bridal shower

Last Tuesday night we had a lil bridal shower for cute Erin.
I thoroughly enjoyed it.
It was so fantastic to catch up with all the girls and have some laughs.
They are all such beauties and I feel lucky just to know them.

Can't wait for Erin to get hitched!
We love her.

tomorrow tomorrow

My husband is at training in Texas all week.
We've never been apart this long.
I am not a fan of his absence.

However, he gets home tomorrow!
Woo-hoot-i-hoo-hoo!

About a week ago, he took my dad gun shopping.
It was a sweet moment watching them bond over hand guns.

Happy Birthday Mom.

Today is my madre's birthday.
She is a wonderful mom.
I am so lucky.

We went out to lunch to Iggys and it was delish.
Don't mind if I do, citrus salmon.

Happy Birthday Mama.

Love you.

get away

We ventured up to the cabin with our friends, Erin and Travis this past weekend.
Had a wonderful, relaxing stay.
I think we all needed it.
We vegged out, played games, and watched ghost stories on tv.
On Saturday, we drove down to the lake and went on a beautiful hike.
Ate some more.
And went on a baby four-wheeler ride.
We had a great time and can't wait for more trips to come with those lil' lovebirds.

Can't wait for these little cuties to get married!

Love you Grandpa.

My grandpa Phillips was a wonderful man.
He was such a hard worker.
A wonderful husband, dad, and grandpa.
He was extremely witty and had a great sense of humor.
A worthy priesthood holder with a strong testimony of the gospel.

He left this earth Sunday morning with his daughters and wife by his side.
I know he is healthy again and watching over us.
I love knowing that I'll see him again and get to hug him.
Thank heavens for eternal families.

Love you Grandpa.

We all scream for ice cream.

We love us some pecan and strawberry ice cream.
I also tried some raspberry gelato.
Delish.

Dallin starts training in a few days for his new job at Reach Local.
He'll be gone for a week in Dallas.
I'm so proud of him, and excited for what is to come with this new experience.

Trying to enjoy every last spec of summer.

one of the guys

I tagged along with Dallin and Nick when they went shooting to Utah Lake on Thursday.
We met up and headed to Cabellas.
Picked up some bullets, targets, ear plugs, and clay pigeons.
Or so that's what they tell me. I pushed the cart and stared at the animals.

I shot the hand gun first.
Boy, is that my kinda gun. I enjoy its' petite size.
The big massive shot gun hurts the crook in my shoulder.
I can barely carry it. I'm weak.

I'm glad they let me come along.
Had a wonderful time.

Guns still frighten me a bit.
Glad I have great instructors!

huckleberry deliciousness

This is huckleberry ice cream.
Dallin introduced it to me when I went to visit him in Seattle.
It has turned into my favorite treat/ice cream.

Well much to my happiness, Arctic Circle has a limited time huckleberry special.
Last night, D and I drove to the nearest arc circ and got shakes.
We both were in pure silent bliss heaven for a good 10 minutes.
I don't even think we spoke.

I sure hope they are around for a little bit longer.
This girl loves her ice cream.

Also went to lunch with my mom and brothers yesterday.
It was a good time.

I told him to smile and this is what I got.
A toothless eyeless child.

apes, rifles, and pizza.

Yesterday was good day.
Aside from the fact that Dallin was absent for a big chunk of it.
He and Nick were in Orem most of the day and Friday night getting NRA certified so they can start teaching concealed carry courses.
He promptly came home for his long class and taught me how to use a hand gun.
I refused to touch it, cause I'm a wuss and guns are frightening.
D also let me know that he can protect me from monsters and Ted Bundys. (My name for frightening men who you can just tell are up to no good.)

He was happy to be done and I'm proud of the big guy.
While he was away, I spent the day at my parent's house.
I made some invites for a bridal shower coming up.
Went and saw Planet of the Apes with my dad and was pleasantly surprised.
We both quite enjoyed it with our MASSIVE diet coke and milk duds.
Got a frosty with Ryker.
And made a pizza with Dallin.

Later on in the night, we went to a flick-a-roo with Erin and her fiance, Travis.
Yes, I saw two movies in one day and I'm not mad about it.
Nope, three. Dallin and I came home and watched Sandlot in bed.
What a fantastic movie.

Here's to hoping the few weeks before school starts don't go by too fast.

Life is grand when..

I have the day off work.
The last two days I've enjoyed running errands, reading, watching movies, and even cleaning the apartment.
When I am given a day from work, I try to soak up every second.
They are what get me through the long days.

And I'm officially missing nephew.

I miss squeezing his luscious thighs.

puddle anyone?

Who needs a swimming pool when you have this next to your apartment?
All the rain lately has contributed to this little site for children to play and explore in.
I don't blame them, it's all I can do not to join them.

On another note, Phil, Lacey, and Gabe are moving to Missouri this week.
I'm gonna miss them so much
Also very happy for them and their new adventure in life.
I know they'll do great.

Already counting down til Christmas for their visit.
