On a Saturday morning, back in December, I woke to hear my phone ringing.
I looked down and saw it was Courtney trying to Face Time.
I immediately knew what I was about to hear.
She was engaged!
Her fiance was with her and had the pleasure of witnessing myself as the bed-head swamp witch my husband has lovingly penned me.
I was so giddy and thrilled to see her in love and so smitten.
D, Mike, and I made the trip up to Canada over Memorial Day weekend for her wedding and then spent a few days in downtown Vancouver.
We first flew into Seattle, then drove up to Vancouver.
British Columbia had some of the most beautiful bridges.
That night, we raced over to the wedding dinner just outside of the city.
It was such a nice evening full of love and lots of laughs.
Don't mind the photo shoot. We were excited to see each other :)
..and I insisted.
The next morning we drove up to the Vancouver Temple for Court and Tanner's sealing.
It was beautiful.
Nothing like being in the temple to witness your best friend make those covenants with such a top notch guy.
Now...to get them to visit.
I already miss her and she's only lived in Canada for a month.
After the sealing we grabbed some food and hit up the X-men movie per D's request.
We spent the next couple of days exploring the city, discovering Canadian chocolate and a couple of delicious restaurants that will go down in the books.
That chocolate though.
Mike does not mess around when it comes to room service.
We ate a lot of goodness on this trip.
Some how we ended up in a 7-eleven one night with bags full of peachy penguins and Monopoly cards.
We are party animals.
We had such a great time, even if crossing the border took forever.
Some funny occurrences from the trip that I'd like to remember:
On our drive up to Canada, just after we crossed the border into British Columbia, D asked, "Do we still drive on the right side of the road?"
At the wedding dinner, all Dallin could talk about was Courtney's grandpa's hair.
He was obsessed with Winston's head of hair.
Mike would get frustrated or say something funny and we'd tease him and he'd just shout, "Just drop me off!" It was funny. Probably one of those 'had to be there moments'.
We were driving back from the wedding dinner into downtown Vancouver and there were these weird lights coming from high up in the mountains.
Dallin:"Looks like we have an alien invasion on our hands."
Mike: "Shiz, I don't have time for that."
