temple square

On a brisk night last week we went down to Salt Lake to see the lights with Ian and Shares.
Had some tasty food and quickly admired the lights.
The temps were frigid.

Always such a beautiful sight.
They do lights right.

ugly sweaters

Mike threw his annual Ugly Sweater Party last night.
I ate chick-fil-a nuggets to my hearts content.

The most treasured part for me is catching up with the sweetest of friends.

And D doesn't mind the ping pong.

past week in the hizzy house

Last weekend we had D's little brohaws stay the night and go to church with us.

It was so nice to hear them giggle and banter with Dallin from the other room.
They are growing by the second and will surely be up at his eye level in no time.

I also gave the combined YW lesson on Sunday.
I was nervous as jelly jam but felt good about how it turned out.
More was received, I'm sure, on my end.
Just grateful for the chance to serve and grow with the young ladies of our ward.

Life is grand. Can't complain.

Stint in Salt Lake

Thanksgiving was full of family and food.
Great on both accounts.

That night we jaunted down to Salt Lake to stay the night with my family.
My dad's close friend and cousin lent us his apartment for the weekend.
Something about downtown makes me want to prance and sing through the streets.
But, I don't.

Oh and it happened to be Black Friday.
Which is really Black Thursday now.
I can't walk away from a hefty bargain.

I truly don't know what was going on here.

Nothing better than a Sleepover in the City.

tres anos

It's been 3 years.
I can't believe it, but yet I can.
Sometimes I still look at D and think gee I scored.
He is my number one fan.
My loyal protector.
A soft cuddly giant bear.
My comic relief.
Has the most ambitious heart.
Always with an open ear, to listen to this crazed loon.

And truly, the bestest friend I've ever had.

Cliche and simply put, I adore and love every ounce of him.

This year we visited The Roof for our anniversary.
We were giddy school girls.
Yes. D did get a sippy child's cup to go.
Hey we're classy.

babies and birthdays

Marissa made a trip up to my house last week with her little, Capri.
She is bea-utiful.
Her hair.
Her face.
Her cute baby grin.
She had me swooning until the second they left.
I love seeing Marissa as a mom.

We also celebrated Dallin's 25th this past week.
I continually count my stars for the man.
He has to be my favorite husband.

But really, I love him so much.

We also celebrated Ryker's 15th a few days ago.
He is getting taller and older looking by the second.
I just adore him.
I'd like to think we have a special relationship.
Love him to bits as well.

On to Thanksgiving next week.
Here I come.

october observer

We had a good month to start off the fall.
Busy with work and school as usual, but had some fun occurrences to look forward to.

My dear friend, Courtney, came to stay with us.
It's like a holiday, when she visits.

(we won't talk about what's going on with my crook neck.)

We also went down to Salt Lake a couple of weekends back, to hit up dinner with Ian and Sharesa.
Sharesa and I mirror-imaged each other.
Good minds think alike.

Halloween happened.
We jotted over to Mike's for a party.
It was great, it always is.

We scraped up a Sully and Boo costume.
Hidden treasure was Dallin's tail, not shown.

Only have a picture of these cuties.
Such a creative bunch.

I adore this lady.

Last of all.
We went down to my grandma's last Saturday to visit with my Grandma.
She brought out her wig at one point, and I had to try it on, of course.
Is that weird?
Well, it happened.

Now that is a treat for the eyes.
On that note.

You know you got lucky when...

This conversation took place over the phone, at 9 pm, on my way home from work, last night.

Dallin: How was your day?
Me: Good, you?
Dallin: It was fine.
Me: What are you doing?
Dallin: Well I just made dinner and it's waiting for you in the warming drawer.
Me: Thanks babe, can't wait.
Dallin: Yeah, I'm going to finish the dishes and get back to watching the Notebook.

Who is this man?
I love every ounce of his sensitive and caring soul:)

final installment

At it again.
Here to write about a trip to the cabin.
It's the last one of the entire year.
I'm deeply saddened.
The cabin was our getaway this summer.
No trips were had, except those to the cabin.

Here we go.

We cherish these trips.
I love that Dallin loves them just as much as I do.

Can't wait till next year.
Until then.

golden birthday

So. On Tuesday, I turned 24.
Sounds really old to my ear.
I guess it's called your golden birthday when you turn 24 on the 24th of the month.
How nice.

I had a wonderful day.
School in the morning, some time with my family, the day off of work, and then dinner and a movie with D.
I felt so loved and blessed the entire day.
I really do have amazing people in my life.

Thank you everyone for the sweet gifts and kind words.
They meant the world.

happenings as of late

Summer is coming to a close.
I'm welcoming the cooler temps with open arms.

With school and work in full swing, we've been able to squeeze in a few fun items.

I've made it a habit to get frozen yogurt with my dad every Tuesday night. We share a love of "treats".

Nicole and I held a baby shower for Shartel and her soon to be baby boy.
He is going to be one stylish fella.
Shar is going to be one heck of a mom:)

That night Dallin and I hit up the Utah State Fair with Ian and Sharesa, and it did not disappoint.
D won a Miami Heat chair and could not wipe the grin off his face the rest of the night.
I experienced my first funnel cake and have dreamt about it every night since.

Last but certainly not least. Marissa had her baby girl on Friday morning, and I could not be happier for her and Chase. They named her Capri Michelle and she is a beauty. I drove down and just basked in her sweet goodness and thick locks of hair. I can't wait to see her again!

Can't wait to see what spunky greatness this girl will grow up to be!

cabin part deux

Surprise.
We went up to the cabin again.

It would seem that the only place we ever go is: the cabin.
I would say, that's pretty accurate.

This summer has consisted of school and work.
Depressing. But it's the honest truth.
We managed to work in a 2nd weekend up at the cabin to celebrate my mom's birthday.
It flew by, but we had a great time.

I have the fullest of intentions of sharing more on here.
We'll see how that pans out :)

rejuvenated

Dal and I finally made it up to the cabin for the first time this summer.
I honestly can't say how good it felt to have an entire weekend with D and my family.
These days, those are hard to come by.
We ate until we were too tired, and ate some more.
Played games, watched House Hunters, caught up on some Downton, and downright enjoyed each others company.
We were able to make a trip out on the lake. The fish were literally flying into the boat.
I had such a wonderful time, and was depressed when it was all over.

Thanks Mom and Dad for the best weekend!
