birthdays and a colossal meatball

Some joyous birthdays have taken place yesterday and today.

We went to a surprise birthday for Mike on Friday night.
I thoroughly enjoyed it.
He does so much for D and I and we love him to pieces.

Yesterday was his actual birthday so my parents made sure he came over for a birthday doughnut.

Yesterday was also Megan's birthday.
We gathered at Trio for a delectable dinner for her with Todd and Devyn.

I ordered spaghetti.
This. Showed up on my plate.

Um.
"Sir, are you aware that there is a meatball the size of a watermelon on my spaghetti?"

On a happier note.
My nephew is 1 today!
How I adore him.

I love you Gabe.
Can't wait for our skype date!

hit up Sundance with Er and Trav.

filled my pockets with swedish fish.
Skyped Phil, Lace, and Gabe.
And hung out with Jackson, the cat whisperer.

old habits die hard

Found ourselves back in the bowling alley on Monday.
We had the day off school, and thought it'd be thrilling to revisit our old habitat.
The alley did not dissapoint.

happenings from the weekend

It finally snowed.
I am ok with it.

We said goodbye to Lacey and Gabesters.
His uncles sure love him.

I sure do too.

This made me happy.
Jackson just relaxing in his robe on a casual Saturday afternoon.

3 simple scoops of joy

We made a trip to H&M the other night.
Scored this front row spot.
I felt a little perplexed leaving it at the end of our trip.
Don't know if we'll be this lucky ever again.

This was my view while getting my hair washed at the salon today.
I love getting my hair cut.
Who doesn't?
I also love some creativity in wall paint.

One of Dallin's very best friends came into town over Christmas.
He lives in LA and acts, so we don't see him much.
Probably one of the funniest souls I have ever encountered.
We spent a few hours catching up and playing games, while he was in Utah.
It was awesome to laugh with them and hear old stories.
His company was definitely a treat.

new post for a new year

The holidays have come and gone, and gee were they wonderful.

Dallin and I are so blessed.
What a treat it was to reflect on our Savior's birth this last month and be reminded of how special it was and still is. I need to be more conscious of it all year.

The break was good to us.
We appreciate that.

We...

spent an abundance of non-school and non-work time together.
It was delightful.

soaked up having Phil, Lacey, and babe in town.
It never got old seeing Gabe walk, smile, and bum scoot.

hung out with my dad.
He had back surgery on the 14th, and is doing very well.
It was a joy to spend lots of time with him and my sweet mom while he was stuck at the house.

had a spectacular Christmas Eve and Christmas with family.
We spent time with Dallin's dad, mom, step-dad, and my family.
Thanking our lucky stars for them and all they do for us.

celebrated my big brother turning 25.
He is an outstanding example to me.

welcomed Chase home from 2 years in Brazil.
He is Marissa's leading man.
They are great.

We also attended an awesome Ugly Sweater Party, divulged in some delicious food and company at my mom's Christmas party, and went to the Nutcracker for the first time with Dallin's stepdad and his girlfriend.

and you bet I oogled and awwgled all over this sweet feller the entire break.
